Mission Trip

Our mission trip is getting closer. On June 22nd we will be driving up to Portland, through most of the Gorge, and turning left into Washington. We will be serving for the week in and around Toppenish Washington. The church we are staying at must be really generous or crazy to put up so many people http://www.gbgm-umc.org/toppenishumc/.

Our mission will take a lot of faith this year. Unlike the Amor trips we know, the trip with Youthworks will be lead and directed by their staff. We know what kinds of things we are doing (painting, helping with a VBS program) but do not know the specifics like the address of the house we are painting, how big it is, how many kids are in the VBS program and so on. It will be a great week for us to serve and learn about faith, and how God chooses each of us for different tasks. The other great thing about our trip is that we will be splitting our group in half and combining with small groups from other churches for this trip. Again, this is very different from spending the whole week just with our own group.

Please keep our mission in your prayers as we prepare, go, and return. We will be back on the 27th and hope to have at least a picture slide show to share about our work. Thanks so much for your support of this trip.

Summer Stuff

Hello to Parents and Youth,

We will have a laid back summer program. Be there if you can, otherwise we will stay in contact and get together at other times. Our Mission will be leaving on June 22 and getting back June 27. Our regular activity will be Sundays after service.

PAWs and VBS are also happening again this summer if you are looking for more activities. PAWs is June 16 through June 19, and VBS is July 28 through July 31. Jim would appreciate your participation in PAWs. If you would like more info on these things please ask Audrey, Jim, or I (Jarrod).

Parents, if you would like to come along on our off-site activities that would be great. Just let me (Jarrod) know so we can plan for insurance waiver forms and changes in cost.

This years grads, if you are changing your contact information or address over the summer or fall please let me (Jarrod) know so I can update the Young Adult roster for activities.

A couple things about next fall: in November all ladies are invited to go along on the Revolve Tour. If you are interested let Audrey know.

Also our program will be taking a different shape over the summer so that we can teach and serve families better. Be on the lookout in the fall for event times that are better for busy families.

As always let me know if you have questions.

God bless your summer,

Now its April?

I don't think anything could go by any faster than it is now. I just got back from tour with the Youth Chorale. It was a great trip and the Youth Chorale did an awesome job of ministering with music. I am now in mission mode. Our mission trip will be going up to the same area of Washington where the tour finished up, and there is still lots to be done. There are still a couple spots open, so let me know if you want to come along. Our last couple months of Sunday School will be finishing up and then we will be into summer. Hope school is going well for all of you, and hold in there. You will be done soon enough.
